Atlas Passes

Data accurate through version 1.0.3.

You may have noticed that there are areas in the game set aside for explorers with an "Atlas Pass". Here's how to get one.

How to Get an Atlas Pass

Throughout the game, you will hear monoliths and ruins speak of the Atlas. Getting an Atlas Pass is a matter of time and an interest in following the Atlas side quest. Note: Atlas Passes and Atlas Stones are different items.

  • After your fourth warp jump, you will be invited to meet the Atlas. You can decline or meet them and accept a red Atlas Stone.
  • After your next warp jump, in addition to the standard space station you find in every galaxy you will find an additional spherical Atlas station.
  • Meeting the creatures the Gek that lives there will give you a dialog option to accept a recipe for version one of the Atlas Pass.
  • Note: There is also a Korvax entity on the station. Interacting with him is NOT a prerequisite for getting your pass.

Behind the Locks

I'm not big on spoilers, but here's a tiny one. With an Atlas Pass v.1, you can enter a door on any space station. On the other side is a private lounge that includes (among other things) a terminal identical to the one you find in drop ships that will sell you a +1 suit inventory slot (same cost).

On planet, the random debris canisters you find that are locked with a v.1 contain advanced fuels that are quite useful or valuable.

Things to Know

Here are a few tips about Atlas Passes.

  • Unlike bypass chips, Atlas Passes don't get used up. So you can keep them in a single inventory slot.
  • Atlas Passes must be of the same version as the door they are attempting to open.
  • Atlas Passes can't be sold, even though the game indicates that they are worth about 825u.
  • Atlas Passes, like most non-elements, don't stack in inventory.

Ingredients

As with all recipes, you have to have the right ingredients to create an Atlas Pass. Atlas Passes come in three versions:

  • v1 - requires 10 heridium and 25 iron
  • v2 - requires 20 heridium and 75 iron
  • v3 - requires 30 heridium and 125 iron
